This YSL Rouge Volupté lipstick in the colour Nude Beige (#1) is the first YSL lipstick I have purchased. In Australia these retail for $55 AUD and you can pick them up in Myer or David Jones stores. I was lucky enough to get my mum to grab it for me while she was in Singapore from the YSL store, so I saved a fair bit of money. I would say these are definitely worth the money, however some of the shades are quite similar so I would recommend picking up the most unique colours that you cannot find any good dupes for or your absolute favourites.
As you can see the packaging is so amazing and is one of the reasons why these lipsticks are so popular. It just feels like excellent quality and is extremely sturdy so there will never be any damage to your lipstick. For the expensive price, you would expect luxurious packaging and YSL really delivers this. Behind the YSL logo is a band of colour and it is a true reflection of the colour of the lipstick that is inside.
The lipstick itself is unbelievably creamy and moisturising so it feels really good on the lips and slides on so smoothly which is another reason it is so highly regarded above other lipsticks. They are highly pigmented and one swipe over the lips is all you need to have an even, perfect application. One thing I am not crazy about is the taste - to me it is slightly irritating but it is nothing that you can't get used to or deal with. This colour in particular is not really a true nude beige colour as the name suggests, but it is definitely a pink nude with a hint of beige tones. If you are after a true nude there are other colours in the collection that may be more suited to you, but this one is a really great wearable, everyday pink. MAC Angel is a good dupe for this lip colour if you are looking for something similar for less - it is just slightly more cool-toned pink than the hints of beige as in Nude Beige.
